Global Semiconductor Conference Malta

The global semiconductor industry is recognised as one of the world’s most critical. Every region plays a vital role in ensuring the continuity of the semiconductor supply chain. Malta has a long track record in supporting organisations operating across the semiconductor value chain and is today positioned as a European hub for expertise and resources.

The first Global Semiconductor Conference Malta, highlighting The Critical Role of the Global Semiconductor Industry, took place on November 18-19, 2024, bringing together industry experts, executives, analysts, and thought leaders.

The 2-day programme was carefully crafted by Malta Enterprise, the country’s economic development agency, in collaboration with Silicon Catalyst, the world’s only incubator and accelerator focused on the semiconductor industry.

Speakers from organisations including TSMC, imec, NXP Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics, Arm, Silicon Catalyst, the European Commission, and members of Malta’s own government delivered actionable insights and thought-provoking discussion.

Sean Redmond talked about the ChipStart EU program, why Malta was selected, the skills in the industry and about the key highlights of the conference. You can watch the video interview above.
